“What Language Shall We Borrow? Adapted from the poem “O Sacred Head Now Wounded” Bernard de Clairvaux (1090-1153) Arrangement and music by John P. Van Dusen O what language shall we borrow to thank Thee, dearest Friend For this Thy dying sorrow, Thy pity without end O make us Thine, Thine forever, and should we fainting be Lord, let us never, never, never, outlive our love to Thee O Shepherd, now receive us; our Guardian, own us Thine Great blessings Thou hast given, O source of gifts divine Thy lips have often fed us with words of truth and love Thy Spirit has often led us to heavenly joys above Here we stand beside Thee, from Thee we will not part Men mock, taunt and jeer Thee, Thou noble countenance Though mighty worlds shall fear Thee and flee before Thy glance We cast down ourselves before Thee, wrath — our rightful lot Have mercy, we implore Thee; Redeemer, spurn us not O Shepherd, now receive us; our Guardian, own us Thine Great blessings Thou hast given, O source of gifts divine Thy lips have often fed us with words of truth and love Thy Spirit has often led us to heavenly joys above Here we stand beside Thee, from Thee we will not part We will not part ” -

Just a bit? I am a singer/songwriter and geek from West Texas. After more than 10 years of solid gigging, I decided to try the leisurely life of a solo artist. I miss the gigs and bandmates and fans, but the quiet solitude of my home studio beckoning e -

“I play a 1939 Gretch Electromatic on this song. The song also features JB Severin on Piano/Upright Bass and John Fabela on trumpet. We recorded this in 1993 and it's still pretty tasty. The painting "Blind Man's Breakfast" is from Picasso's blue period.” -

“The painting is "I Came Like I Promised" by Yves Tanguy. I used a Sony PCM-D50 hand-held recorder on a small tripod to record this song. I played a Larrivee LV-03R near the bridge to approximate early country demos by artists like Hank Williams Sr. ” -

The power of music combined with the power of audioboo to capture it. And all off a phone. Impressive.
299.833“I've listened to most all your boos and Pete's too. I just got started with Audioboo last week so I'm a bit of a newbie. I recorded studio albums in '93 and '96 in Colorado. (I was born and raised there.) I loved it and could have spent the rest of my life in the studio. I'm glad you get to do that soon. Have fun with it cause it takes a lot of work to get good recordings. I'll keep listening and post a few things to my facebook profile for you guys.” -
