I was in your situation 2 years ago and I feel for you. I was getting less than 56kps after six pm despite getting 2mbs during the day. I recommend Sky as they use local loop unbundling - basically you get a direct line to you exchange rather than sharing you bb connection with the entire area. It's faster (I get around 6-8mbs) and a lot more stable. Plus Sky have tech support here as opposed to India. Good luck!

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I am still quite surprised there has been no engagement on twitter from BT. They are normally quite good with their twitter presence.
That is just normal for me, I think I was on "Classic" too and I just got an overcharge bill of £17. Unfortunately my circumstances (debts + low income) mean I have little influence over which supplier to use and the bill payer is basically committed to BT. A while ago I did get it changed to the unlimited package so I am hoping this is the last time I get one of these charges.
I read something about a week ago that you can get high speed broadband in to your area Christian, but it will cost you about £45,000 (yes, forty five thousand pounds!). As for the recommendation, without hesitation I would say plus.net - just look at the reviews - I was with them when I had my own line.
I'm with 02 for my broadband, and they really do seem to have an unlimited download/upload limit. It only costs about £15 a month. I'd certainly recommend it.
ps, forgot to mention, but there is a new group of collaborators campaigning by lobbying government, its called 'the Final Third First' and I am gonna post your boo link in a comment on their page, because the press are looking at it. Every little helps, we want the final third, of which you are already a member to get NGA, as we feel the market will deliver the larger areas with no intervention, but nobody will help us. www.finalthirdfirst.wordpress.com if you want to add your name to the supporters list!
