Efforts to fight homelessness in Downtown, Los Angeles, received a major boost. The Supportive Housing Recovery Initiative received 5.2 million dollars in donations, primarily from the Conrad Hilton Foundation, extending its long-term partnership with the Corporation for Supportive housing. The announcement was made at the Japanese American Museum in Downtown, Los Angeles, an area with an estimated 10,000 homeless people. The money will fill the funding shortage, and kick-start stalled supportive housing projects in the area.
