Four men have been jailed for an insurance scam that went wrong causing the death of a young woman. They had deliberately caused a car crash to make a fraudulent insurance claim.
This is the first time a crash-for-cash, as the are known, has killed someone but it has been a growing phenomenon. So much so that a year ago a dedicated police unit was set up to tackle this kind of crime.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Wood told the Today programme that "these characters are organised and do this for a living. It's a high risk business but the rewards are rich."
