Good to meet you too Bernie. Still pondering the idea of social audio and how we can encourage more participation through audio. Perhaps as you say it needs to be re-invented and re-imagined. The trouble with podcasting I think was that too many people tried to emulate radio programmes, got frustrated and gave up. Short form audio offers many more possibilities and has a lower barrier to entry. I know I for one will be trying to integrate audio into my social media work-flow from now on. Hopefully more will too!
