Cool -we'll definitely follow you! Some of us are due for upgrades at Verizon soon. Hate not having email on the current phones we have. It's vital for us right now to keep in touch any way we can with fans and our team.
BTW, my Twitter name is @thebeancast if you want to follow. I do marketing and advertising and the show touches on all kinds of marketing topics. A lot of good insights on working with social media for promotion.
MeryFest is billed as bluegrass, but the reality is that it attracts all kinds of music. Nickel Creek played there a lot and that's very similar in style to your music.
As for the iPhone, I've been a huge fan, but admittedly it sucks across the Midwest. Most of the towers out there use CDMA technology, which makes Verizon the clear choice. If you are looking for Verizon alternatives to the iPhone, though, look at the NexusOne of the Evo. Android phones are the closest thing to the iPhone and come with a lot of apps to choose from.
We have heard of MerylFest! We don't really consider ourselves bluegrass even though we have elements of that in our music. Thank you for the GREAT complement! Will pass this on to management. How do you like your iPhone? We would love to get some but we're on Verizon and swear by Verizon. ) : Otherwise - we're all Apple freaks. Thanks again for posting the as yet unnamed song about the wise old owl.... SHEL
You're welcome. Yes, the recording was done on an iPhone 4 using the free AudioBoo app. And sorry about getting the "unsigned" part wrong. I saw it was an EP and assumed that the record label was your own.
Not sure I'm good for venues. But you really should at least try to get in with MerylFest in Wilkesboro, NC. You would be a big hit at that. I'm assuming you've heard of it, but if you haven't it's the biggest blue grass festival around. Run by Doc Watson in honor of his son and all the biggest names play it.
Thanks for posting this! Did you record this on your phone? This is our latest song and our current favorite right now. SO glad that you like it! We really enjoyed Cornerstone! For the record, we are actually signed to a label - Universal Republic Nashville. Our website (being redesigned now) is iloveshel.com and we have a hilarious video up there for our song - Latest and Greatest Blueberry Rubber Band. You can also find us on Facebook and Myspace - search for iloveshel We will be at Soulfest in New Hampshire August 4 and 5 for 2 shows and are planning to tour there and back.
