Very good Reason to use the new RT feature that I had not considered.
For me, I like the old way so I can send inspirational tweets to my Facebook profile so my son will see it. I do not RT a bunch of Mashable stuff so hopefully i am not cluttering up your tweet stream with inspirational quotes too much. If so I can use another account to send the tweets to FB.
I must admit. I'm guilty of the old style tweet. Mostly as I occasionally like to comment. I aggree that the 'official retweet keeps things clean, as @topgold says though rapid retweets do make it easy for people to spam the timeline.
If I get a string of retweets from someone without any context or character added, I use Twitter's main site to remove that person's retweets from my life.
