@anakin1814 I'd never hold any member of my family back from travelling. These things need to be done & i'm so glad that i did some travelling when i was younger too. I just hope that i'm able to do some more myself in the future.
LOL @ the walking on water comment.

It’s great to see that as a family, you travel together as well as do your own thing. I think that’s very healthy for each person to go on their own adventures and have their own experiences. It’s also very cool to see that as a father, you’re quite excited to let your children experience these things on their own vs. holding them back. My parents hate that I travel as much as I do. They’ve never done much of that themselves and can’t understand why I’d want to. My mom just sees the dangers of it vs. how enriching it can be.

@kenrg Actually the tide wasn't that far out. Maybe the GPS isn't as reliable as we thought? I've always been happy with my own company & with travelling alone. At least you can do whatever the hell you like then.
I guess that's one of the beauties of Europe. To don't have to go far to speak a different language & to experience a different culture.

And again the tide must be way out, as the map puts you in the harbor. When I was doing my semester abroad, I loved going into a new city, in a country whose language I didn't know, and getting off that train alone, and having to just figure out a way to get a room for the night, food, culture/entertainment, and fend for myself. Great times, great memories.
