I can't afford to come to events. sorry. I am just a community volunteer, but I will be watching if you do a livestream. Last time they couldn't stream your workshop because it was crammed to the rafters if I remember right. Anyhow, just make sure someone there explains to joe public the whole BT BET scam and exposes it for what it is. Otherwise they will get conned. Its time some of these conferences stopped pussyfooting around and even though BT is probably one of the sponsors they shouldn't be allowed to use it as a platform to push their obsolete technology in the rush to grab public money for their greedy fatcats and shareholders. chris
Thanks for the comments - rest assured I won't be covering BET in the workshop I'm doing at the conference! Go to http://www.inca.coop/events/nextgen-10-0 to sign up if you want to come along......
Must admit, if anyone is competent to advise on getting funding it is you Daniel, and any community wanting to access funding should deffo come to your workshop. As regards a conference with BT and Virgin attending I doubt anyone in rural areas will have any success other than the crap solutions they are already proposing with their 'alternative technologies'. BET is a scandal waiting to happen and I hope the next gen conference has the guts to expose the myth that rural access can ever be delivered over crap copper phone lines. Poor Cornwall has already been suckered in. Let us hope and pray the North is not so foolish. The future as we both know is fibre to the home. Keep rocking. We will get there. Say no to BET. chris
