Don't forget to take a look at the Guildhall and Church Street as they are today in Google STREET VIEW.

In the map box, just 'drag' the Orange 'Human' icon - from the top left-hand corner - and 'drop' it on the map at the AudioBoo microphone.

For several centuries the school had shared accommodation in the half-timbered Guildhall with the town council. During Peter's time at school the council used part of these buildings to house the town's horse-drawn fire-engine.

One of the town council's manual fire engines is now kept at Mary Arden's Farm http://houses.shakespeare.org.uk/mary-ardens-house.html & can be seen in this photo on flickr http://flic.kr/p/8n7PF2
