I'd say it's a change for the better - it's a time to relax, and whatever does that for you is good. At least one could argue you are engaging with the real world more by delving into peoples lives and 'life media' by viewing their home vids and pics. At least your engaging at all - my memories of night in front of the TV all involve fidgiting about bored and wondering if I should go to bed yet....
My only 'discipline' is I try to mix up my time in front of a screen to ensure it's not just passive. There is a whole world of creative hobbies openned up by ownership of a computer and a net connection these days and whatever your interest, there's always something more interesting to be doing :)
