1. Firstly, annotate the advert on page 11 of your booklets. Think about codes and conventions. What are the denotations of the advert, and what connotations do these have?
2. Arrange your notes into a table of denotation and connotation. For each connotation, make sure you have a clear explanation of how that would appeal to the target audience (TA). To do this, you must have a clear idea who the target audience (TA) is. (As a clue, this is not aimed at 90-year-old fisherman!)
