my 2 pence worth. MySpace is needed, but it's audience are apathetic.
Speak to @markrock about how AudioBoo could help re release of social audio, a Player for the band's work, etc. Mention AMP (top secret ;))
Make sure your blog is fed with all your activity on Youtube, LastFm etc etc - allow people to obsess over your interests should they so wish.
Sign up at SoundCould.com and use the account to upload some track stems - run a remix comp. and embed the stems in your blog. Most musicians are moving from MySpace to soundcloud - Beck recently released there, Moby too. It's a good service although you are limited to 5 uploads a month - if you spoke to @dave_hayes on Twitter, I bet he'd promote the remix comp and allow free hosted audio.
Use AudioBoo to post recordings of the band both on and off stage. Allow people to routinely know what you're up to with short tweets.
Have a facebook account if only to make a Band App - and aggregate all your social media in an app that fands can add to their pages. It's dead simple to do - shout if you need help.
As AudioBoo develops, there's lots of cool stuff being released - so it will become a more and more useful tool for musicians. At http://audiobooth.net we've just started develpping full AudioBoo API integration and hope to become the premier site for musicians to aggregate all their pre-production and produced content from Soundcloud, AudioBoo and other social AudioTools. Sign up and big up your music in a Blog post - we'll promote it to the front page (we're new too so we're looking for artists to work with !)
