Advent Sunday, a bleak and windy Edinburgh. Warmer in Old Saint Paul's, one of Edinburgh's better secrets, though there are few secrets left in this most toured of towns. A glorious beginning to the Christmas period, a glass half full church, a handheld candle and a low baritone. This Bach is the exit music, the choir of 20 sang from the Messiah earlier, spine tingles. And here's me an atheist as well, eh!
