One final geeky note -- the Kinect's microphone is disturbingly sensitive. After recording, I had left the control dialogue closed, and was tagging my Boo before uploading it. I have "speak auto text" enabled on my phone, and as I was tagging, the voice on the phone (very quietly -- it's an iPhone 3GS built-in speaker) said "Xbox" for the tag completion. Even a few feet away, the 360 heard this, and brought up the control dialogue again. ;-)

Netflix's adaptation to support the Kinect microphone, however, is quite cool... It uses the Kinect microphone's ability to deal well with background noise so that saying "Xbox" and sending it commands always works as expected. Add onto that the ability to choose your title, pause, resume, rewind and fast forward what you're watching and it really is full app control. I will do a brief demo of this if anybody is interested...

My one complaint about this initial Kinect Voice Control offering is probably related to the Bing implementation, which really, is mainly like a Windows Search for the 360 with a few online (mostly app/game marketplace) elements added in. I find it a bit disappointing that this interface doesn't (yet) allow downloaded apps to be launched (you have to find them in the dashboard to do that at this point).

Also, this same Xbox 360 system software update includes "Cloud Saved Games," which provides (assumedly secure) online safe storage of saved game data that looks and acts exactly like an Xbox 360 hard drive or memory unit.
