There was a man who sailed the sea
He met a woman
She told him "Leave the sea and I will bear you a child"
She gave birth to twin boys

When they were young men the twin brothers built a ship
They took their ship to the high cliffs by the sea
As the brothers were preparing to sail they met a woman
That night there was a storm and the brothers were seperated
Running towards the ship the boy was about to call out
When he saw his brother kissing the woman and fell silent
The next morning the boy returned home
His brother sailed to sea

Running towards his home the boy was about to call out
When he saw his father and stood still
The boy took his knife and was about to kill himself
When he saw his mother and was paralysed
The boy stayed like this for a long time

One day the woman was passing by
Seeing he was paralysed she sang to him
And he was moved
The woman led the boy to water
As the boy drank he saw his reflection and fell
The woman held the boy through the night

In the morning the boy returned home
The boy told his mother "I'm leaving"
His mother turned away from him
The boy held his mother and shook her
His father, seeing this, told his son "Let her go"
And he did
The man left his home

Finding the ship the man called out to his brother
The brother asked the man "Why did you not sail with me?"
The man told his brother "I'm afraid. I'm afraid of the sea"
Stretching out his arm and opening his hand
The man told his brother "Give me the ship"
The brother, taking the man's hand, replied "It's yours"
The man took the ship to sea

That night there was a fierce storm
The man surrendered to the sea
In the morning he was awoken on the beach
By the sound of a boy singing
He asked the boy "Where is your mother?"
The boy pointed to the high cliffs by the sea
And there was the woman singing her song
As he turned back the boy had vanished

Handing the woman his knife
The Man told her this story
Then they took the ship
And sailed the sea
