Great boo. The ugly comment could of been worse, at least your mother didn't say it. Mine has on a number of times said "oh you looked so handsome when you were a boy, then your nose got too big"
She still has a picture of me at the age of 12 in her bedroom .... i was 44 the other week :)
I'm glad that you didn't lose your faith in helping people - you seem like a nice chap. Good on you for doing all those things - I appreciate on their behalf. :)
