This short item describes a novel project undertaken to reach out with health screening messages to Bury's South Asian community using the local "Mosque Radio" network. Health advice given over the network reaches communities in ways that primary care services were otherwise unable to achieve. South Asian men and women have specific health risks which they may not be aware of. Some conditions, if not addressed, can have serious outcomes. For instance, if diabetes (quite common in South Asians) is not managed properly then blindness can result.
