Thanks for the comments guys. Cyberdoyle I think you hit the nail on the head.
Del, thanks as ever. Never fear writing all you are thinking. You always make great points that inspire me.
I am sat in a hospitality tent at Superbikes right now. I wish i could say what i think to a few people involved in this crazily over indulgent sport. Still. I am here to help a friend who has worked hard to get where he is and where he is balances on a knife edge. More importantly than anything this is how he feeds his kids.
Hi Christian. A sober report and unfortunately a more common event and a personal dilemma that I can relate to. I was going to write a long comment as this has really stuck in my head but my words pale in significance and just sound preachy. But you've won half a battle by sharing your thoughts and maybe next time I'll be more aware and help someone else down the road. Our environment isn't just ground, sky, buildings but also people and sometimes real people are the easiest thing to ignore. Thanks for a very thought provoking 'Real' slice of life.
good stuff. we need to give them jobs. give them back their freedom. the freedom we need to earn and spend. We are on cabbage and carrots today. grassroots. (with some nice roast pork) roasts, apple sauce etc. sourced local. We can't afford a bike either, but we wouldn't want charity. We would love less waste on stupid govt initiatives and a drive to get people back earning a living doing something useful. Not jobs for the boys. Real jobs. Jobs with an end product. Food. Vegetables. nice audio boo, food for thought.
