Yes, that's a great example.

Thanks for that Simon... after reading through your last comment, i thought of a situation which might alone justify Dropbox... someone who did not have icloud could send files ( and vice versa ) to myself, which normally would not have been possible to send ;-)

DropBox is very different to iCloud, though there are some things you can do that you can do with iCloud or with DropBox, there are many other things you can do with Dropbox that you can't do with iCloud. DropBox is just a folder you can have on all your devices, and you can put anything (legal) in there. You can share a folder with other people too - great for collaborations or for sending long recordings to another person. DropBox is a lot more flexible in that way, but it can't do everything iCloud can. So there's room for both in your life. Try DropBox for free! http://db.tt/LrH3rUO

Simon.. the basis of my original boo was "do i need dropbox " if icloud does the same job.. not wanting to take on any other apps/programmes that would be unnecessary.
You say they're different things...... in what way ?

'icloud can sync into dropbox but not vice versa'
I've got literally no idea what that means.
They're two different things. Try Dropbox. It won't break iCloud, and the 2GB account is free! http://db.tt/LrH3rUO
