Also, with regards to dragging.. if you hold down the "shift " key whilst dragging you can "swipe drag " the item to get it where you want to go without losing the "drag" .

Hi Simon and all, I listened to your boo with great interest as I was a bit worried myself about having to drag and drop things like audio files, movie clips and such. I went into the trackpad preferences and discovered that one can set the dragging without having to press down on the pad itself and simply double-tapping the pad. There is also something called "drag lock", which when activated makes it easier to double-tap to select, then drag, then single-tap to drop the icon. I have yet to test it thoroughly, but so far it's working well for me.
