Farmers on the dreadful drought in Nebraska

0:00 / 6:41

While most of us here in the UK were wondering if it would ever stop raining, the same weather system that was leaving us sodden was frying much of the United States. America has been (and still is) in the grip of its worst drought in more than half a century. Record temperatures and no rain have spelt disaster for both farmers and ranchers. Given that the US is the world's largest producer of corn and among the biggest cattle producers, what happens in the farming states of the Midwest and Great Plains matters to just about everyone. Paul Adams reports now from western Nebraska where he's been hearing from some of those who've been desperately battling the force of mother nature.
