Would you be happy with your post and parcels being left with your neighbours?
Many of us will recognise that sinking feeling, on walking through the front door, to find one of those postcards on the mat, telling you a delivery has been -- and gone -- while you were out. That may happen a little less in future, as the Royal Mail has decided that from next month, the postman will deliver post to a neighbour if no one is at home. After running a trial, Royal Mail concluded that customers welcomed the convenience of letters and parcels being left at a nearby address if they weren't at home to receive them. But of course that depends on knowing and liking your neighbours. Ritula Shah asked the writer and broadcaster Sam Delaney, what his neighbours are like?
