Replicating the Portland Vase

0:00 / 4:14

A modern replica of one of the ancient world's most beautiful works of art goes on display in the West Midlands town of Stourbridge this week.
It's called the Portland Vase, and it's been made to showcase the skills of the few remaining glassmakers still working in a town once world-famous for its glass industry.
Terri Colledge, who carved the decoration on the replica, told the BBC's Nick Higham that she cannot believe "how they've done it, how it was carved, how intricate it is... It is a beautiful piece."
