“It hasn't answered all our prayers. You can listen back to a recording, but you can't monitor the audio input as you record. I'm not sure if this still a configuration issue inside the jack, or firmware in the iPhone. This should be the same as using the iPhone earphonest/mic to make a call. Jesse says there's a small difference between Nokia and iPhone in the 4-pin jack configuration. This new cable is working perfectly with powered Sennheiser ME64 directional mic on the iPhone 3GS (and the Nokia for that matter too) Curiously, on the Nokia N82, there is an audio signal coming through the headphone split as you record in video mode, but it's very faint.” -

185.87“Update: So the MD46 works fine, but produces slightly lower recording levels. I could not get a Sennheiser MD421 to work.Must look into this. The ME64 and ME66 both worked on the iPhone 3GS but there is some interference affecting recordings. Probably from a power supply. Curiously, the ME64 worked on the older iPhone 3G. ” -
