    “From the Finance Industry What role does meaning (purpose) have in the workplace to feel connected and motivated. “it’s one of the biggest challenges in this economic climate” “Need to look at best practice...Everyone needs a reason to go to work and what they do” Can values framework help “Need backbone structure of core values, but different tasks, need and requirements in different levels of the organisation” What role does a manager have in creating a sense of meaning? “Absolutely required....Team members want to be treated as individuals, career plan, where they’re going and what they’ doing makes sense in the bigger picture ... my role is to help them get there” ”

    “Can Autonomy and Team Work go together? It’s about the Crew working well together, more than about individual flair or individuality. Where your individual personality comes in, is how you take a person interest in what you do. “We have to maintain a standard .... we work as a team” How the crew integrates and connects is vital. “The cabin crew are my eyes” His team is positive and self assured, that seems to come from the leadership style of the Pilot. “Getting the best out of the environment we’re in via the people we work with.” Do you feel a sense of meaning in what you do? “Yes ... some people do it because have bills to pay, but unless you’re happy with the environment you’re in you won’t do it well...” [rest of recording] “In a service oriented industry, you’ve got to have the desire to do.... it can’t be for the kudos ... unless you’re achieving something you won’t do it.... there is a satisfaction in knowing that you’ve done a job properly” ”
