Declare your love for your girlfriend, spouse or even your mum by recording yourself reciting a poem to go on The Times Love Wall!
Need inspiration? The Times has published a special issue of 30 romantic poems to get you in the mood; read them at thetimes.co.uk/lovepoems (please make sure the poem you read is out of copyright, we have marked them on the website). Or of course, you can record a poem of your own creation!
You can either record it here on Audioboo or on our website - and please begin the message by stating your name and who the message is for. From Tuesday, your Valentine will be able to hear your recording on The Times Love Wall; all you have to do is check thetimes.co.uk/lovewall on Valentine’s Day, then send your loved one a link. All recordings will be subject to moderation.
The Times Love Poetry special is appearing in conjunction with the iF poems app, Britain’s first children’s poetry app where you can read, listen to, record and share your favourite poems from a collection of more than 200 classics. A donation of 10 per cent of all proceeds from sales of the app (£1.99 for iPhone, £2.99 for iPad) will go to Save the Children.

“Strathclyde Theatre Group (our sister company)are bidding to reach the finals of the Sky Arts ‘Stagestruck’ competition – a national television competition to find the best community theatre group in the UK. As an audition for Stagestruck, STG have made a film of a short scene from Shakespeare’s Hamlet. This is the audio track from that video. Bruce Downie, Paul Darroch, Barry Ward and Natalie Clark have taken up the challenge on behalf of the group. The scene was directed by Bruce and filmed by Paul while Barry plays the tormented Prince of Denmark and Natalie plays the beautiful but doomed Ophelia. The film has been selected, as one of the best 20 from groups around the country and is now on the Sky Arts website. The public now have the opportunity to vote for their favourite video and the top 8 groups will go forward to the televised stages where they will compete against each other. Each group will get the chance to work with a leading figure from the world of theatre. The winning group will get the chance to perform on stage in the West End of London. Please go to the following link and vote for Strathclyde Theatre Group http://www.skyarts.co.uk/theatre-drama/stagestruck/ The deadline for voting is 6am on Tuesday 30th August. We’re very proud to have got to this stage of the competition, we can already say with some justification that we are one of the twenty best groups in the country. Stagestruck has come along at exactly the right time for STG. The recognition for the company and the boost to the morale of our members that would come from getting to the televised stages, would be incredibly valuable in helping us rebuild after a difficult year and would allow us to look to the future with confidence. If we went all the way to the final, if we won the chance to perform in London, that would transform the fortunes of STG. Please vote for Strathclyde Theatre Group and encourage your friends to vote. ” -
