I like listening to things, knitting things, eating and cooking things, and walking. I am doing a PhD at Oxford Brookes, looking at our imaginative relationship with sound. -

soundmap This is an issue which comes up from time to time and appears to be inherent to how Google Maps labels particular locations. It may be that Google Maps uses tiles or polygons of quite a large area, and then names them in ways that reflect a view from Seattle rather than local knowledge. Nonetheless, adding geodata will mean that your recording appears in the right place on the UK SoundMap.

soundmap That's great, your recording's now on the UK SoundMap. It's got a very detailed and nicely-balanced sound - what did you record it with?
