Shaggy72Wow! My cousin had a Commodore vic-20, so of course, I had to 1 up him & get a commodore 64 for Christmas. (God I loved those local BBSes! - The best BBS had a whole ONE MB of hard drive space! - My parents finally go tme a 2nd phone line so they wouldn't hear that annoying high pitch online noise! Every visit to the mall before then i'd goto Radio Shack and play with their trs80.)
And my 2nd computer was an AST w/ win 3.1, and my first experience getting on the internet.
As an 80s kid, I thought that Commodore (& the Atari 2600) was "awesome".
A few years back I trashed all that stuff. (Recently found the 5 1/4 floppys in the attic tho). It all still worked, thought it was obsolete junk.
JodieWhoSailsHi RIch, I remember when I first started working back in 19(cough cough) we used Windows 1 or 2. Because not many people understood the operating systems back then, we would read off the hardware brand name to explain what computer "system" we were using. If anyone asked what memory capacity it had, we were stumped.
FiremanRichI mentioned in this audioboo that you had to have Windows 95 to get on the internet back in the early 90s. To clarify, where I was stationed at in Japan the internet service was ATT and if you had a PC you need as the Win95 operating system to be able to hookup to the internet. I was able to connect to the World wide web or internet for the first time in 1995. I thought I was stepping onto the moon. : )
