is that he was invited by the Vice Governor of Saudi Arabia, Jam Jun, to come to Jetta.
In the 1970's, the wells of Mecca had indeed gone dry.
Water was being imported at an enormous cost,
which process was neither sustainable or locally self reliant.
And the author was there to help produce water locally.
