dmb9548Okay you have me a little more interested, I guess I will go ahead and put my name in the pot to check it out. Just don't know if I will use it. Thanks for the reply!

GV is so much more than a # that forwards your calls. Think of it as the perfect ultimate portable phone number. And, it's extremely customizable.
I give mine as the contact # for bills and online forms. I also give it for people who ask me for my number in general if they aren't close friends.
The customization alone is super amazingly sweet. You can create multiple answering machine messages, then assign them to different people. Your Mom/Dad calls, they get their own custom message, "Hey Mom and Dad, leave me a message and I'll call ya back when I have laundry to get done" etc.
Blocking callers a plus.
Having a VM box that transcribes a plus.
Ability to do SMS free a plus.
You know Google, they love their customers and they expand their stuff all the time. GV is just a baby, imaging what it will be in a year, 2 years, etc. Look at Gmail, it started with what 2GB of storage, just got out of beta and it's up close to 8GB of storage.
I thought the same as you, "what do I do with it?". Now, it's my truly non-service dependent phone number that I give willy nilly... because if I get calls I don't like, I block or give them a custom "buzz off loser" VM.
Hope this helps.
