That vision of the future (and the Carousel of Progress that was transplanted to Disneyland complete with the city of the future), couldn't help but inspire little kids like us (of course, we then came of age in the 1970's....)
Factually, you probably went in June of '65, since the Fair only lasted from 64-65...it's actually one of my earliest memories.
kenrgGoing to the NY World's Fair in June of '66 was a great formative experience for me, especially the "visions of the future" exhibit which lived on in my dreams for decades, with images directly from that day. I've not gone to the actual site since, but have just seen the ruins of it from the back of a taxi between the airport and downtown. I think I need to go back there. Now.
