When John Lennon met Paul McCartney
The story of the famous first meeting between the future Beatles at the Woolton Summer Fete in 1957. I prepared this for English language learners but I think it might also be useful for teachers of other subjects. It's linked to learning activities and an accompanying slideshow here: tiny.cc/p3ygl You might want to link to the recent Sam Taylor Wood film about Lennon's early life, Nowhere Boy. Incidentally, Paul wishes to correct the record on one point - John was not taller than him!

Love Is Real
It's hard to believe. My parents turned 70 this year. What's sad is, one of the last interviews he did, he mentioned, all willing, he still had 40+ years of work left in him. It's sad that we missed out on all that he could have done.
In some ways i find it harder to believe that he's been dead for 30 years, than the fact that he would have been 70 now! Death keeps people young in our minds. This Boo might just have inspired one from myself :)
I can't believe you didn't have the full JL catalog till now! Whatever John would be doing now, I'm sure it would have integrity and be inspirational. It's still inspirational.

Imagine by John Lennon played by the Exeter Cathedral Society of Ringers
Commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11, a recital of John Lennon’s famous anti war song Imagine performed using the bells of Exeter Cathedral. See http://www.imagineproject.info for more info. Starts off with a welcome from Bishop of Exeter. Then bell ringing performance of Imagine (for about 4 minutes), followed by a two minute silence. Ends with silence is broken and people light candles and place flowers.
