I am not sure it is any more the confidence in the kit than the in actually doing audio or video with other people. I used to think it was an element of charisma that is needed to pull it off and engage but the more i try to enable others in workshops etc it seems to be more and more about creating a rapport first and not having to think about the tech at all.
Make the tech second nature and not important and the i feel the confidence come automatically. We need to stop the tech being a barrier to the conversation flowing.
Audioboo has really helped this with so many not ready or even not interested in getting involved in video.
