They Eat Mountains, Don't They?
Ha ha. Yes - I listen to a lot of Mountain Goats. I guess it's pretty obvious. No plan to release an EP. I'm really just putting all my all songs out to pasture so I can focus on newer (better) ideas. Audioboo is basically going to be a museum for all this assorted musical juvenilia lying around in my head. Not sure about more accordion - I've a pretty basic production set-up. But if I find a better, cleaner way to record it I'll lay some tracks down ;-)
kinda mountain goats/calvin party, well the good bits anyway. More accordion next time? Is this working towards any sort of culmination like an e.p or are these just demos to hear in the ether?
This is an old song written about 4 years ago that I never recorded. This version was done all in one take, as it were, with a couple of extra bits dubbed on after. Took about an hour in all. However, after I saved it on Garageband it messed the sequencing up, so some of the backing vocals and the accordion bit are not totally in time (and trust me - I play in time). But it's just a silly home demo and I can't be bothered to fix it. The lyrics don't really mean anything. It's a about a river. See below: ... They Eat Mountains, Don’t They? Follow the river to the foot of the mountain Follow its pristine orbit Screen of sky with sun in its eye Blazing yellow red Dove-coloured spangles of fresh snow Settling on its ridges Watch it stretch its clammy river limbs And dream of age-long river dreams Deep is the silence here Follow the river to the end of the delta Follow the paper warships Fingers pressing through the chrome of the surface Cold altar of riverbed Do you trust it with its tiny eyes? Droplets of concealment It moves mountains when you’re not looking Grain of sand by grain of sand It hides eyes in it sleeves, and all its tails are forked What will you do….? Follow the river to the edge of the ocean Follow its urgent exit Reflecting blue light from the cloudless sky Its silver sides shine and it hides From dry land in the safety of Coralheads and jelly bones Rescued things in rescued homes What will you do when the world cannot hold you? Mountain eater, mountain eater
My job, according to Emi
An angel in the mountains? Didn't The Grinch live on Mount Crumpit? He did end up being somewhat cuddlesome though!
Good! She's a very perceptive little girl.
That made me laugh :D
