frenchaccentPhil,
For the system-wide connection settings, there is the EasyConnect app (www.birdstep.com) available for free from the Ovi store (at least, it's become available for my phone the E71 one or two weeks ago, I don't know if it's available for the N86 -- I don't have one of those). In any case, it looks like EasyConnect requires a bit of configuration to get it working, I haven't really bothered to configure it yet (a long while ago I've made all my apps default to using my unlimited data plan), but it seems like it's supposed to solve the connection permission options Nokia problem to some degree. - Stephan
PS: It's too bad they didn't include their special usb cable in the box of your phone. They did that for my E71.
PishbaGreat to know about the N86 lens. Though too bad about the battery backup issue. And connectivity issues. And very interesting about the Open Source source OS for N900. look forward to hearing more about your idea for the ultimate mobile broadcasting phone.
