HousePaulI agree with what you said about films! I watch both r.e.c. and quarantine and I liked r.e.c. better! It was a better movie and even with the english subtitles on. I would much prefer to see an original film as it was meant to be seen then a straight remake that adds nothing better or at the very least a different perspective.
SabaziusI am SO glad someone else has seen this film! It's such a brilliant story that just seemed to slip past the public consciousness in favour of Stephanie Meyer's teen wish fulfillment fantasy. Great review :) and brilliant comments on foreign cinema. Of course, I think there are films which have escaped this curse - the works of Studio Ghibli and Pedro Almodovar are two very different and excellent examples, as well as films such as Pan's Labyrinth.
I think you'd really like the film Delicatessen, it's a French post-apocalyptic movie about a butcher's shop... very funny, very very dark. Look it up!
SabaziusHave you played Red Dead Redemption? It's perfect for immersion, the graphics and gameplay feel like a film that you script as you go along. It's one of those games that start to affect how you look at the real world (in the supermarket, you find yourself thinking "I wish I could just lasso the milk so I don't have to walk all the way over there...")
