omaniblogWell there's really only one thing to do: make it happen - go on a road trip to your local - make a journey of it - equivalent of you epic Lands End to John o'Groats - no money no corporate sponsor - nothing but the goodwill of friends, allies, semaritans, Pharisees...
Bring back Bing & Bob... "The Road to Christian's Local" - music by the #octaver orchestra...
Ummm...
Documentally@Omaniblog You would love it. I really should have done a follow-up recording as i was proved very wrong regarding the ration of christians to non-christians. I think there were only 50-60% practicing christians at the meet and the conversation covered all kind of great philosophical topics.
omaniblogI feel like joining that group of your village elders.
Jo.ChocolateThe parade is a fun thing to do at least once. I have been - when I was young and joined a group staying up all night on Main Street. I don't think you'll ever figure out what is open when on Pioneer Day because I find it changes a little every year.
michelleWell, the most annoying thing about Pioneer Day was just I couldn't figure out what was open when. Not really that big of a deal since I had nothing else going on, but I was just struck with many moments of "Doh!" I haven't been here long enough to see anything celebratory (except residual fireworks) but I'd like to see a parade just once. Kinda interesting as an outsider, both as a non-LDS, and from someone who's not from the area (and hasn't lived here that long).
And yeah, I'm having the culture shock in terms of the conservative-ism, having come here from New York. Oy!
Jo.ChocolateI'm LDS, but agree with most everything you said. I don't give a darn about the parade and the most annoying thing about this state is how conservative it is. A little conservative is good, this extreme, not so great.
