Steve_BrittonThe Royal Scots Dragoon Guards have just seen a changeover of Commanding Officers. Lt Colonel Jonathan Bartholomew is the incoming man. He’s taking over halfway through the Regiment’s deployment on Herrick 14. But as he told Steve Britton, he’s certainly no stranger to Afghanistan.
Steve_BrittonMiltary dogs obviously have to be trained and volunteers are needed to don the protective suit in order to give them something to chase. But what do you get if you combine that training with a charity event? In the case of the Counter IED Task Force, the Military Working Dogs Section and football fans representing their favourite teams at Camp Bastion - it’s the Dog Bait Challenge. Steve_BrittonThe Counter IED Task Force, the Military Working Dogs Section and football fans at Camp Bastion representing their favourite teams took part in the Dog Bait Challenge during the week – with Day 2 on Friday. The organiser of the event, WO2, RQMS Adi Myatt, was the first to attempt to run as far as he could before being brought down by a Military attack dog. I joined him as he wisely donned his protective suit and what I tool to be a hockey mask:
