brummigBirmingham city centre used to be heaving with people on a Saturday, but not since the banks wrought their destruction on the British economy. I was the only customer in one shop in the Pavillions in Birmingham. I sat for a moment where once there had been a cafe and recorded as the staff in another shop took advantage of the complete absence of customers to do a bit of vacuuming. It's not their fault the shop was empty.
