300.042“Constructing roads, buildings and Air Traffic Control towers is challenging work under normal circumstances. Doing it in the middle of Afghanistan, sometimes under fire, makes the task even more difficult. During his recent visit to Afghanistan, Gary Sullivan of Building magazine gave an interview to BBC Radio Essex's Drivetime programme. In the interview, from Camp Bastion, Gary talks very favourably of his impression of British Army logistics and leadership and BBC Radio Essex has very kindly allowed the reproduction of this interview. Another interview with Gary Sullivan will take place on BBC Essex on the 2nd of March.” -

“Members of the Afghan National Army Band are mentored by the Band of the Parachute Regiment in Kabul. Aside from the odd 'bum' note, the ANA band are coming on in leaps and bounds with their new instruments. Under the taliban regime, their old instruments had to be hidden, sometimes buried from view.” -
