RadioKate Thank you. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Your kind comments mean a lot to me. I've not got the dictaphone working yet, I might have to take you up on offers to help if I can't find the other one that I am sure exists around here somewhere. I've a funny feeling they might just be old tapes from the answering-machine. But I really should find out. Thank you again. x

bowbrick Fantastically moving. I do hope you found her voice on that dictaphone. In fact, I can hardly wait to find out! My parents both died in the last three years and I don't have a record of their voices either, despite carrying an audio recorder around with me for years. What are we like?

syzygy What an amazing, touching audioboo - thank you for sharing it. I don't know if you got the dictaphone working, but I'm sure I've got one somewhere that might be compatible... I can look out for it if you'd like.. I really hope you can hear your Mother's voice x
