Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame will be assuming the role of US musician Weird Al Yankovic in the upcoming biopic, WEIRD: The ‘Weird Al’ Yankovic Story.
PEOPLE has leaked an exclusive first look of the actor, who’s dressed in full costume and holding an accordion. According to Radcliffe, he takes the Hawaiian shirt wearing seriously and says that it’s a huge responsibility. Furthermore, the Hollywood star says that he’s honored to share with the world the story of Weird Al’s ‘depraved and scandalous’ life.
The Roku Channel unveiled WEIRD: The Weird Al Yankovic Story and announced that Daniel Radcliffe was assigned to play the musician. Al Yankovic has churned out parody hit songs, including ‘Like a Surgeon’, ‘White and Nerdy’ and ‘Eat It’ throughout his career.
Yankovic mentioned that he’s thrilled that Radcliffe would portray him in the original Roku content. Filming of the movie is set in Los Angeles, but there’s no exact date of release yet.
