Can you live a day without your mobile phone? I can’t. I bet many modern people cannot spend a day without smartphones, as it’s now an essential part of our daily lives. Other than texting and calling, we take photos, share our moments through social media, search and get information on what we need, and spend our leisure time. They allow us to get connected, get work done, and access information on the go. Using a smartphone in a smarter way can make your time more efficient, useful and convenient. From dark mode to mobile wallets and eSIM technology, let’s explore 5 tips to get the most from your smartphone.

    Contents

    1. Use Dark Mode

One way to make your smartphone usage more comfortable and energy-efficient is by using dark mode. If you turn ‘dark mode’ on, you can change the color scheme from bright white to darker black colors. Not only is the device’s system color scheme provided in dark mode, but many apps now offer dark mode options as well. Darker screens are used to reduce eye strain and fatigue of users. Especially when using your phone in low-light condition, for example in a dark room, seeing a bright white screen can bother your eyes. Additionally, using dark mode can save battery life, particularly on devices with OLED screens, as the black pixels require less energy to light up. Overall, dark mode can make using your smartphone easier on your eyes and on your battery.

    2. Make a payment only with a phone

Mobile pay services is one of the features that mobile users love. Most smartphones now have built-in digital wallet features. Samsung pay is available for Samsung Galaxy devices, while Apple Pay is for iPhones and other Apple devices. Once you enter your card information, you can make a payment only with your smartphone without a physical debit card. It’s not only convenient, but also secure. It prevents someone who stole your credit card from abusing your credit card. This can be especially useful when going for a run or exercising, as you can simply take your phone and leave your physical wallet or bag at home.

    3. Two numbers in one phone

If you own a recent mobile device with an eSIM feature, you can now have two different numbers on a single phone. Before eSIM, you had to buy and carry two phones to use two numbers. But with eSIM technology, you can keep your original number and a physical SIM card in your phone, and create another mobile number through eSIM. This way, you can manage your personal and work numbers separately, without the need for a second phone. To join and create the second number through an eSIM mobile plan, you should contact local mobile carriers that provide eSIM postpaid plans. You can easily switch between numbers and choose which number to use for different purposes, whether it’s for work, personal use, or traveling. This can make managing multiple numbers more convenient and efficient, all on a single device.

    4. Use eSIM for travel data

Among many cases to use eSIM, using eSIM while traveling can make your trip much easier. Normally, when you travel internationally, you would need to switch your existing physical SIM card to a new local SIM card or pay for expensive automatic roaming services to use your phone abroad. However, with eSIM, you can keep your original number and SIM card from your home country, and still get connected to the destination’s network through eSIM. Many countries now offer eSIM services for travelers, including eSIM USA and eSIM Europe. You don’t have to worry about high roaming fees. Simply activate your eSIM service before your trip, and you can stay connected wherever you go.

    5. Customize your home screen and widgets

Personalizing your smartphone’s home screen and widgets is now a trend. There once was a time where Apple didn’t allow users to customize the home screen. However, it’s much more lenient nowadays. After Apple’s update which let customers have total control over the home screen’s layout and design, how to make it more aesthetic and suitable is a hot topic. You can change your app icons, make custom widgets, create a video wallpaper, and much more. By personalizing your own phone, you can make it easier to access and use. In addition, it also can be another way to express your own styles and interests.
